About the Company:

Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops, and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France. Roxel has an annual turnover of about £100M and nearly 700 staff.

Vacancy: Multi-skilled Engineers

The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield, Kidderminster where we now have a requirement for 2 permanent Multi-skilled Engineers.

Summary of Role:

Use both mechanical and electrical engineering skills/knowledge to maintain and enhance the performance of plant and equipment. Provide first-class, flexible support to production requirements and factory services at all times by means of the application of electrical/mechanical skills in fault-finding/diagnostics, planned preventative maintenance practices, and electrical/mechanical installation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with all statutory Safety, Health, and Environment requirements.
  2. Ensure accurate & timely records are entered/recorded of all work carried out, root causes of failures, and of spares/consumables used.
  3. Ensure maintenance engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods/procedures to reduce these utilizing our CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
  4. Work as part of the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered.
  5. Perform detailed preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with schedules.
  6. Fault diagnosis and rectification on all plant and equipment within the manufacturing facility.
  7. Identifying the root cause of asset faults, improving asset performance and reliability to meet operational objectives.
  8. Provide a fast and efficient response time to any plant breakdowns that occur, whilst ensuring all company procedures and standards are adhered to.
  9. Work and train new apprentices in a maintenance discipline.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Essential:

  • Recognised electrical and mechanical qualifications.
  • A recognized time-served Mechatronics apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering maintenance discipline.
  • A proven maintenance engineering professional with high standards of electrical and mechanical understanding and competencies.
  • Expertise in fault diagnosis and rectification processes, and planned and corrective maintenance activities gained from within a similar role as part of an industrial maintenance team.
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and CMMS (computerized Maintenance management system).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety processes.
  • Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures and deliverables.
  • Understanding of environmental controls and practices.
  • 18th Edition BS7671 certificated.
  • 2391/52 inspection and testing qualified.
  • PLC programming and fault finding.
