About Us: Eriez Europe designs, develops and manufactures industry-leading magnetic separation, metal detection, fluid recycling and vibratory equipment for over 80 industries. We are a multinational company with our European headquarters having been established in the Caerphilly/Bedwas area for over 50 years. About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Electronics Technician to aid in the design, assembling and testing of electronic prototypes. The successful candidate will be capable of using common lab equipment such as power supplies and oscilloscopes to support R&D and will also be familiar with hand assembly and soldering to a fine pitch SMD level. Responsibilities: Build, assemble, test, and repair complex analog and digital circuitry at the PCB level including SMD rework for pine pitch devices Build prototype circuits using perf board and breadboards to test and prove feasibility of sub systems for complex electronic devices Read and comprehend complex electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control circuit schematics Use electronic test equipment for repair and troubleshooting Implement electrical lab test programs to evaluate new prototype products to meet specifications. This includes the accurate collection of test data and the reduction of test data into clearly written test reports Populate parts onto prototype printed circuit boards. This includes the ability to evaluate and de-bug board performance Possess good skills for “hands-on” work Work independently on projects with minimal supervision Travel on occasion to manufacturing facilities and field installations to evaluate and trouble shoot equipment Requirements 3+ years of hands-on experience assembling, testing and repairing electronic prototypes to component level 3+ years of experience testing and fault-finding electronic prototypes using standard laboratory equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters, power supplies, solder rework stations, spectrum analyzers, etc. 1+ years PLC programming would be a plus Proficient using computers and Microsoft Office software Ability to conduct defined laboratory test programs to verify calculations and new concepts Appropriate “hands-on” skills to work in the R&D lab to safely assemble and disassemble and inspect prototype equipment Willing to travel on occasion Benefits Annual salary of c. £34,000 State of the art working environment based at Sbarc Cardiff Private Healthcare (BUPA) Employer pension contributions of up to 6% Tech Scheme Cycle to Work Scheme 26 days annual leave Referral programme Discounted shopping vouchers
