You will be a Senior Electronics Test Engineer as the business is looking for someone with experience who can step straight into the role and provide a level of maturity to the team.
It is important to remember that this is very much a hands on role, and whilst there will be some supervisory elements to the role, the key element is the hands on focus but providing a presence and gravitas when working with staff who are less experienced.
The Senior Electronics Test Engineer will be experienced reading circuits, integrating circuits, fault finding circuits, highlighting the use of oscilloscopes and multimeters whilst working with anti-static controls, as well and being able to follow a process and procedure implicitly ensuring the Senior Electronics Test Engineer knows if the board is faulty or not.
Currently there is automatic test equipment that does a lot of the work, and this will highlight an issue, but what is needed is someone who can then get down to component level and say "this is what is causing the issue"
The Senior Electronics Test Engineer, will start with the PCB board whilst then going through the whole process where the Senior Electronics Test Engineer will be able to work in the environmental chamber and perform other tests, and then the board will fall onto the ATE system and then onto pressure testing, and then taking the board into stock. In simple terms the Senior Electronics Test Engineer will provide a safe pair of hands to do a lot of hands on testing work, whilst having a presence in the team whilst having the capability to take the draft spec and then take it to the next level and make improvements
There are 3 test engineers conducting the role at the moment, the company is expecting to do more electronics in the future then they have ever done because of the drive towards EV. The wish this person who can take the draft spec and then take the spec to the next level and make improvements and then instil best practice in the other team members.
