The Company
Is a well established company based in North Shropshire. We have been designing, developing and manufacturing electronic products for the Automotive Industry for over 30 years.
Role and responsibilities
The job would involve all aspects of designing new products to add to the company’s existing range - predominantly the design of automotive battery management equipment including switch mode DC-DC battery chargers and voltage converters - and occasionally liaising with customers to design products to their requirements, including designing electronic circuits, transferring information to electronic circuit software and providing files for sub-contract pcb production.
The role will also involve building prototypes, organising the testing of the products such as writing test programmes, part lists, production drawings, mechanical drawings, building test rigs and equipment. The company is looking to upgrade their testing equipment for their range of DC-DC Voltage Converters and Battery Chargers. The voltage ranges from 5V DC up to 100V DC. The power ranges from 2 Amps up to 100 Amps.
The company also do a lot of Loom and Wiring Harness work so the successful candidate would sometimes need to produce drawings or samples from customer schematics or samples.
Also speaking to existing or potential new customers to assist with any problems or explain how a particular product works. Over time you would need to familiarise yourself with their complete product range.
The successful candidate would mostly work alone after the current Engineer has retired but would liaise with the Production Manager and Buyer.
