Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Location of Office: Leeds

Location of work: Hybrid WFH Model

Salary: Up to £50,000

The Role: Our client, a well-funded and fast growing start up are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join their engineering team as they work towards the development of a new ground-breaking wearable device. Their office is based in central Leeds so easily commutable via car and public transport and they offer very flexible hybrid remote working.

They are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join them, where you will be initially tasked with completing the embedded systems and software element of their product whilst working closely with the hardware and application engineers. This will involve developing core firmware for a biometric sensor based, wireless wearable device. You will take responsibility for all matters software and have the chance to make a real impact in the design and development of this ground-breaking wearable device that will be used around the globe.

Skills and Experience:
Embedded software development - C or C++ (both ideally)
Real-time operating system based development
Full design life cycle experience
Experience with wireless comms - BLE, WiFi, Zigbee etc
Microcontroller design - ARM or Nordic ideally
To meet the company's goals and objectives they will be looking to grow the software team in the near future and will be looking for you to play a key role in recruiting, growing and leading a new software team. Therefore, any experience in a similar leadership role or desire to take on a technical lead role in the new future is desirable.

Desirable Skills and Experience:
Experience in a fast paced, small team environment
Knowledge of electronics and schematic design
Experience leading projects or small teams
