Job Title: EMC Laboratory Engineer

Location: Basingstoke

Salary: £32k - 45k depending on experience


Our client has an opening in their Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Team in Basingstoke.

We are looking for a Laboratory Engineer with some exposure to EMC testing or similar fields (cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth) and experience in testing electronic products. Whether you are a recent graduate or have vocational qualifications in engineering, electronics, or science, and have a keen interest in electronics and technology, our client offers training and development to support your growth.


You will be joining a supportive and friendly team, involved in testing and certifying the latest technological innovations.


Requirements:

  • Engineering or science-based qualifications and a willingness to learn.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
  • A genuine interest in technology.
  • Desirable: Understanding of IT equipment, radio technologies (e.g., cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth), and test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers and signal generators).


Key Tasks:

  • Conduct testing on a wide range of products requiring certification.
  • Maintain and upkeep laboratory equipment.
  • Accurately document test findings.
  • Update company work systems with testing details and job status.
  • Assist and support customers on-site, and communicate results and project progress confidently via email or phone.
  • Ensure customer delivery requirements are met.


Qualifications:

  • University degree in Engineering (related field) or equivalent work experience.
  • Ideally, knowledge of EMC and experience in testing consumer electronics.
  • Passion for technology and engineering, with a strong aptitude for success in a renowned safety science organization.
  • Effective communication skills and customer interaction ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work with multiple teams across the business.
  • Innovative and creative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
