About the team :Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community. The Training & Performance organization develops and delivers policy training to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our users and content creators to enjoy and express themselves. As a Policy Training Development Specialist, you will be responsible for creating solutions (training materials, learning experiences) related to our content policies, to support the training of TikTok's content moderators across the globe. You will work very closely with Trust & Safety's Policy subject matter experts, regional policy teams, and additional stakeholders in Ops, to identify policy training needs and address them through the creation of effective training solutions. You will be responsible for creating, scaling, and maintaining these training materials.You will develop training materials for various modalities, including instructor-led and e-learning. You will be able to organize, structure, and present content policies in a clear, polished, and concise manner in both oral and written forms. You will help drive forward iterations in the training delivery process to ensure that desired learning and performance outcomes are met and learning impact is backed by data. Responsibilities- Partner with internal stakeholders in Policy and Ops to develop effective training materials - Translate complex policy information into learning experiences to address the identified training needs and track the impact on the desired performance outcomes - Apply knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theories to identify appropriate training modality and structure based on learner needs, content requirements, and targeted performance outcomes - Design and develop training programs utilizing various learning methodologies and leverage learning technology to deliver these programs (virtual instructor-led training sessions, self-paced e-learning courses, and blended learning solutions), facilitating training, as necessary- Collaborate with the policy team to understand and deliver policy updates, work closely with the quality team to conduct needs analysis and identify gaps that should be addressed through training solutions- Create and maintain training infrastructure to deliver high quality training materials, implement robust tooling solutions and to ensure consistency and compliance- Create training plans utilizing various learning methodologies for diverse delivery modalities (online live training sessions, safe-paced eLearning courses, online and blended learning solutions)- Understand and leverage data to set success criteria, evaluate learning impact, and analyze training gaps to create learning experiences aligned with performance outcomes Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in instructional design or equivalent with 5+ years of practical experience in creating, developing, and delivering training programs - Knowledge and understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design methodology- Strong background in trust & safety, policy development, and content moderation- Experience with instructional design software (Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline and Rise), media tools (Vyond), and experience with LMS platforms- Excellent planning and organization skills, strong project management skills, ability to independently manage several simultaneous training projects from analysis through implementation and evaluation- Excellent written & oral communication skills, public speaking, presentation skills, and overall interpersonal skills- Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across functions- Experience navigating ambiguity, adapting to business needs, and working in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications:- Portfolio of instructional design projects preferred.
