Energy Consultant (Strategy and Transactions)

London, Manchester / Hybrid working

Do you have a Technical Engineering background within Energy Value Chain, Power Generation (including renewables), Green Technologies and Energy Transition, Oil and Gas with ambitions to work within due diligence, looking for a great new role?

We're looking for a Consultants at all levels to join our clients Transactions & Business Advisory team, working for a global independent expert in assurance and risk management. They advise financial institutions and Energy / Utility companies on due diligence projects across buy side, sell side and project finance deals. If this sounds like you, read on!

The role

The team operates in many industry sectors, but with a particular focus on midstream and downstream oil and gas, power generation and distribution (including traditional gas generation, biogas, biomass, energy from waste) and energy transitions (such as hydrogen, carbon capture and storage/carbon capture, utilisation and storage, ammonia, etc).

The nature of their business means that staff work on a wide range of deal types and sectors. Transactions advisory is by nature highly challenging and fast-paced. Individuals are expected to be flexible and to work per the needs of the business.

You'll contribute in managing the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring a timely delivery whilst meeting the high-quality requirements of clients. You'll analyse data to determine findings and draw conclusions and develop recommendations for their clients. You'll write reports and develop presentations materials. Also, support and contribute to the sales process for the Transactions Advisory team including bid development, customer interaction and market research.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrable technical engineering experience (ideally consultancy experience) gained within energy value chain, power generation (including renewables), green technologies and energy transition, or the oil and gas industries
  • A strong academic background in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
  • Excellent report writing, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Flexible attitude to working in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment
  • Ability to collaborate with others and plan and prioritise activities, to deliver against competing/tight deadlines
