Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to start their career in engineering! We are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineering Apprentice to work alongside our experienced teams at our Overhaul Centre in Livingston. Along with support from the Assessor's at West Lothian College, you will be fully supported throughout your Modern Apprenticeship. This is a SCQF Level 5&6 Apprenticeship and will last approximately 4 years.

  YOUR PROFILE

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with a keen interest in Engineering, who will commit to the full 4 year apprenticeship.
  • You will have a good standard of secondary education, National 4/5’s at grade C or above including English, Maths and a Science subject.
  • In addition, Higher Maths and Physics would be advantageous.
  • You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve already completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. 
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to use their own initiative, good problem solving skills and a strong desire to succeed.

You must be eligible to live and work in UK.

  WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

  • Assembly of vacuum pumps according to the working procedure and technical drawings.
  • Commissioning and functional testing of Ebara Pumps and Products.
  • Disassembly and Decontamination.
  • Repair and maintenance of vacuum pumps.
  • The ability to read and understand Mechanical and Electrical schematic’s.
  • Set up and carry out vacuum pump performance testing.
  • Health and safety - IOSH working safety and IOSH Managing safety.
  • Ensuring quality requirements by understanding and adhering to ISO9001 quality management system and testing activities.

By working in a wide variety of areas, both internally and in the field, you will learn about the interrelationships of various business processes in an internationally active company.
