Teaching Personnel is delighted to present a fantastic opportunity for a full-time English Teacher at an Ofsted Good, diverse secondary school in Bramhall. This role commences in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanent placement based on performance. The salary for this position is in line with PayScale (£30,000 - £46,525).

Role Overview:

As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and effective English lessons to students across key stages 3 and 4. You will have the opportunity to inspire a love for literature, enhance language skills, and support students in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver dynamic and inclusive English lessons in alignment with the national curriculum and examination board specifications, catering to the diverse needs and abilities of students.

  • Literary Exploration: Introduce students to a wide range of literary texts, genres, and authors, fostering critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation skills.

  • Writing Development: Support students in developing their writing skills across various formats, including creative writing, analytical essays, and formal reports, providing constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.

  • Language Acquisition: Facilitate opportunities for students to enhance their language skills, including reading comprehension, vocabulary expansion, and linguistic analysis.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' progress and understanding, providing timely feedback to support their academic development and achievement.

  • Literacy Across the Curriculum: Collaborate with colleagues to promote literacy skills across the curriculum, integrating literacy instruction into subject-specific lessons and activities.

  • Pastoral Support: Foster positive relationships with students, offering pastoral support and guidance to address individual needs and concerns, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in English.

  • Passion for English literature and language education, with a commitment to inspiring and motivating students to achieve academic success.

  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a thorough understanding of the national curriculum and assessment requirements.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
