Role Purpose:

The role of the Enterprise and Investment Risk Manager is to take an ownership role with respect to the development of the enterprise risk framework and to be the lead risk manager on the development of the risk framework in the context of Investment and strategic risk. The successful candidate will deliver an appropriate engagement model for investment risk management incorporating the entire investment portfolio.

This is a high impact and hands-on role where the incumbent is expected to strategically implement the risk governance plans, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and GARC. The role has a direct reporting line to the Group Head of Risk.

Person Requirements:

  • Sound understanding of operational, enterprise and investment risk management and ideally, experience in successfully leading and delivering a Risk transformation programme in a complex, entrepreneurial investment manager/asset manager
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate and work as part of a team across geographical regions
  • Substantive knowledge of applicable risk management practices in a regulated environment and knowledge of the latest trends, concepts and best practices
  • Advanced modelling skills, scenario analysis, predictive modelling, risk assessment, and the development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrable experience with modern risk tools, decisioning systems and AI
  • Exposure across public and private markets would be ideal, but not mandatory
  • Proven record of complex problem solving and decision-making ability
  • Strong project management skills, ability to coordinate global projects with stakeholder participation
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to analyse root causes of operational, investment and financial risk issues
  • Adept at forming effective relationships across all levels of seniority in order to collaborate with, influence and engage key stakeholders
  • Ability to work ‘hands on’ with the team’s objectives as well as in a leadership role
  • Demonstrate flexibility to take on additional ad-hoc responsibilities, prioritising as required.
