How you will create an impact

  • Continue to embed Risk Management across Talbot, ensuring consistency with the Group’s ERM framework with specific focus on Insurance, Market, Credit, Liquidity, Strategic, Operational and Group risk.
  • Contribute to the determination of Talbot’s response to regulatory initiatives and developments where required.
  • Monitor regulatory and market developments for risk and risk management to identify the possible impact of changes or emerging risks.
  • Co-ordinate the Risk owners to encourage collaboration, the sharing of knowledge and to facilitate the adoption of best practice across Talbot.
  • Assist in the guardianship of the Risk Register, including control effectiveness, and all other documentation relating to the Risk Management Framework.
  • Continue with the implementation of the Risk Policy including risk appetite for each risk category.
  • Document and maintain Talbot’s risk appetites, tolerances and acknowledgements, the associated statements of appetites, their measures and key indicators.
  • Carry out risk assessments for prescribed risks (including deep dives).
  • Aggregate and report risk information from various sources.
  • Monitor and record changes in the risk profile of the business, including the effectiveness of the control environment.
  • Record, monitor and investigate risk events/incidents and risk management actions.
  • Assist in the completion of the Own Risk and Solvency Report as required.
  • Be an active user of The RSA Archer GRC System and ensure that it is always up to date as the “system of record” for the risk management process.
  • Assist in the design of and/or run reports in accordance with business needs from RSA Archer, as needed.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on risk management matters and foster good working relationships across the business with a view to fully embed effective risk management in the business and culture.
  • In collaboration with the Capital Modelling team, support the ongoing development and use of the Internal Model.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Significant experience as a Senior Risk Analyst or Risk Manager within insurance
  • London market experience preferable
  • Risk Management and CII qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Very strong listening and communication skills
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel and databases
