Overview

Role: Environmental Consultant

Experience: Environmental/STEM Degree. One+ years’ experience as an Environmental/EHS Professional.

Job type: Permanent, open to Full-time (37.5 hours) or Part-time applicants.

Location: Sheffield

Salary range: £30,000 - £42,000 (dependent on experience) plus additional benefits.


About Environmental Consultancy at EHS Projects

EHS Projects environmental consultancy service is a growing team of Sheffield based but nationally operating consultants. EHS Projects has an excellent track record with our longstanding and growing client base in the food & drink, chemical, engineering, waste, and aviation industries. All of our environmental consultants work in a multidisciplinary way within the areas of legal compliance auditing, carbon and energy data analysis, the low carbon agenda, environmental reporting, sustainability, project management and environmental permitting.


Purpose

We are seeking to appoint a Sheffield based Environmental Consultant or Senior Consultant to expand our team. It is essential for applicants to have experience of environmental consultancy, regulatory or professional EHS roles. A technical background, particularly in auditing, carbon/energy data management or environmental permitting would be highly advantageous. We take pride in meeting our clients on site and understanding their businesses on the ground. All of our consultants travel within the UK and occasionally spend nights away.


We are open to part-time or full-time applicants, we can discuss the working pattern that works for you.


Key Accountabilities

You will:

  • Work to support the wider team of environmental, health & safety consultants and our associates to support across our operations.
  • Undertake audits of environmental legal compliance or other management system based scopes.
  • Conduct technical assessments of water, ground, waste, and air pollution risk.
  • Support our clients to obtain the permits and authorisations.
  • Deliver on energy and carbon data analysis, accounting and reporting projects.
  • Support our clients to develop and achieve sustainability
  • Use and develop the commercial and leadership skills.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with new and existing clients.
  • Show an ambition to grow and diversify the services that EHS Projects offer.


Key Competencies:

  • Relevant experience (one+ years) in environmental consultancy, regulatory or a professional EHS role.
  • Hold an Environmental, Geography, Geology or other STEM related degree.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • A clean UK driving licence.
  • Access to a car and willingness to travel (within the UK and Ireland)


Desirable Experience:

  • Environmental or EHS auditing
  • Environmental Permitting or similar authorisations
  • Technical assessments of environmental risk
  • Developing environmental management systems
  • Working with energy and carbon data, or low carbon agenda projects
