The benefits 26 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension contribution at 6% Comprehensive life insurance The role The HV Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate estimates and manage bids for design and build projects, which will include large and more complex major schemes.
Providing accurate take offs and maintaining a high level of competency when preparing prime cost estimates Developing Value Engineering Proposals and providing innovation where applicable Competently using Trimble Contract Master for preparing estimates Managing client and key stakeholder requests in a professional and timely manner What you need to be successful in this role You will have strong commercial and business awareness to enable you to identify and recommend appropriate bid proposals that meet client expectations.
You will bring your ability to prepare Schedule of Rates, "take off" quantities from drawings or bill of quantities, and have previous experience from a HV environment.
Proven track record for securing works within the HV marketplace having a technical knowledge of and covering a broad scope of works inclusive of; Substations works (DNO & Private) and associated equipment i.e switchgear, cabling, earthing works, new / replacement transformers, protection and control.
Knowledge of various HV installations ranging from 11kV 132kV HV & Windfarm Infrastructure upgrades / new installations.
HV Cable installation and jointing works.
Civils works understanding of trenching, backfilling, plant and equipment requirements for projects and accurate vetting of quotations from supply chain partners.
Staff Management and Delivery team requirements on site.
HV Testing & Commissioning.
