The role overview:

  • Based at of the head office in the Newcastle area, working on projects across the UK
  • Completing in-depth review of customer enquiries and attending site meetings / surveys as required (predominantly new build projects tendered, reducing site meeting and surveys).
  • Speaking with suppliers and specialist sub-contractors regarding quotations, from both a commercial and technical perspective, vetting them at all stages.
  • Part of this position will be preparing take-offs from drawings, as required.
  • You will also identify and analyse opportunities to give a commercial advantage to tenders.
  • Using estimating software (SEC), you will present the Tender to Directors & the Senior Management Team for approval, prior to submittal.
  • You will complete detailed tender submissions including tender letter, cost summary analysis and potential value engineering opportunities.
  • It is vital that you carry out post-tender review meetings with clients.
  • You will also be assisting in the development of colleagues such as Administrators or Junior Estimators.


Package:

  • Basic starting salary: Up to £58k

The ideal person:

  • You will need proven experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Estimator within the M&E sector.
  • An in-depth knowledge of electrical / mechanical systems, codes, and regulations is essential for anyone applying.
  • You need to be proficient in estimating software, ideally SEC, and you must have strong IT skills with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Anyone applying needs strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • You need to live a commutable distance to the Head Office in the South Newcastle area, or be willing to relocate.
  • Right to work in the UK is essential – no sponsorship available (sorry)
  • A full UK driving licence is required for this role
