Job Description

Job Title: Events Coordinator for in London

About the Foundation: The foundation was set up by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, creator and owner of the easy family of brands including easyJet (see and Founder and President of the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation (UK Charity No 1441206 & Company No 07567138).

Place of Work: Based at the UK headquarters 34 Thurloe Square, London SW7 2SR.

Salary: GBP £35k- £40k per annum depending on hours worked and overseas travel bonus.

Hours: Vary depending on events; some evening work required Monday to Friday and occasional weekend work, with some overseas travel.

Holidays: 20 days paid holiday a year.

Responsibilities:

  1. Directly report to Tracy Ghori, Foundation’s Charity Coordinator and Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, Founder and President.
  2. Manage the Foundation’s headquarters building and its facilities.
  3. Organise and supervise events held at 34 Thurloe Square by other charities (capacity 40 people seated dinner or 60 people standing drinks).
  4. Ensure the property at 34 Thurloe Square is available to other charities for free with a contribution towards catering and production costs.
  5. Aim to have two charity events per week.
  6. Update and develop the Foundation’s website (WordPress) and social media on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  7. Assist with awards the Foundation runs in the UK, including collating information, processing in Excel, creating PowerPoint presentations, and managing the awards event itself.

Requirements and Skills:

  1. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, WordPress, and social media.
  2. Greet visitors, providing a warm and professional welcome to our office.
  3. Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials.
  4. Assist in financial tasks including creation of purchase orders via SAGE and organise online banking payments.
  5. Relevant experience in a similar role in the charity sector is a plus.
  6. Show initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility, be a team player, and demonstrate good time-management, attention to detail, and a friendly and professional approach.
