This role will place you within our large and supportive international consultants’ team to interact with clients and suppliers across Europe. You will be at the forefront of changes in the energy industry at a time when the biggest energy transition since the industrial revolution is taking place. What is the job about?

Our large international clients need help in dealing with the price volatility in energy markets. They need someone they trust to help them minimize risks when buying energy. You will be their guide and assist them in putting together a good purchasing and renewable strategy and negotiating energy contracts. Increasingly important is the transition to green energy – something more and more of our clients need help with.

What will you do?

You will develop and manage your own client portfolio, enjoying a great deal of independence in organizing your work. You will interact regularly with clients´ C-level management on all items regarding energy procurement, convincing and advising them on how to organize their energy procurement process. You will evolve quickly towards a role of coordinating consultant, acting as single point of contact for large international clients.

The job of a consultant consists of different aspects, such as:

  • Market analysis. You will stay updated with all aspects influencing energy prices. You will summarize the information and contributing to the exchange of knowledge with your colleagues. You will share your expertise with the wider world in presentations, blogs and tweets.
  • Risk management. Based on fundamental market analysis and a client’s strategic profile, you will pro-actively advise clients to hedge or un-hedge positions.
  • Sustainability and green energy buying. You will find the best sustainable solutions (solar, wind, cogenerations…) and support your clients in the negotiation of those contracts.
  • Projects. You will investigate the possibilities of renewable power purchase agreements for your clients.

Required competencies

  • Analytical & synthetic: you will be working with a wealth of data to be analysing and synthetized for clients and colleagues. For instance – you will analyse energy contract proposals, edit comparative spreadsheets, share the results of your analysis with clients and lead the negotiation process.
  • Communication: persuasive and confident to gain clients’ trust and convince them to follow your advice. You will need to be attentive and captivating when presenting advice and knowledge
  • Organization: with working in a busy environment you will need to be able to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Accountability: you will be working independently, setting goals for yourself and others and giving substance to them
  • Resilience: this is a fast-paced and ever-changing industry with a certain amount of pressure to stay ahead and keep calm
  • Creative: finding solutions and alternatives when you meet resistance or problems

Other requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, energy, business management or similar
  • Solid experience in a consultancy or account management role, preferably in the energy sector ora service environment
  • C1 level in English to hold client meetings and internal communication
  • Ability for short business tripsin Europefor client meetings andteam events
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in the energy market is a definite advantage but we are providing full internal training on energy and our way of working upon arrival
