Description Overview

The External Supply Planner will manage daily, medium, and long-term supply planning for a range of externally sourced finished goods. This includes overseeing logistics and product release activities for the UK and IE markets. 


The role involves identifying supply risks and opportunities, contributing to the SIOP Cycle and NPD processes, and proactively managing the product portfolio to enhance Perrigo's competitive advantage and support the customer-first strategy.

Scope of the Role

1. Risk & Opportunity Management:

  • Collaborate with the central supply planning team to identify risks and opportunities in the supply plan.
  • Assess the impact of weekly feedback from the central supply planning team on purchase orders.
  • Communicate relevant risks and opportunities to the wider business, including senior stakeholders, on a weekly and monthly basis.


2. Order and Inventory Management:

  • Prioritize purchase orders and reconcile stock levels between SAP and our 3PL partners.
  • Correct Idoc errors to ensure SAP data accuracy.
  • Work with the customer supply team and other internal/external teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.


3. Sales and Supply Chain Optimization:

  • Collaborate on opportunities to drive sales within and beyond normal lead times and constraints.
  • Optimize planning processes and tools while tracking and measuring supply performance.
  • Assist in directing and prioritizing the entire supply chain, considering constraints such as suppliers, equipment, resources, projects, material dating, and quality statuses.

4. Capacity and Capability Assessment:

  • Evaluate capacity and capabilities against forecasts to effectively manage the supply chain.

5. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Produce necessary reports for internal and external stakeholders as required to discuss relevant areas of the role.

Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in supply planning within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Logility is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and Excel skills.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information in a fast-paced role.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive business relationships with a diverse audience.
