Our client are looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer.

The business currently fabricates and installs railway structures and has undertaken some of the industry high profile signalling and OLE projects.

Job Role: Assist and support with the day to day running of fabrication contracts for an industry leader in railway infrastructure.

As Project Engineer you will be reporting directly to Fabrication Project Manager and you will be working closely with other engineers and production managers in our Manchester Office.

Your role is to ensure that the correct information, specifications, drawing etc.

are given to the production / workshop managers to ensure all client requirements are met.

You will be required to liaise with the client or site teams and sub-contractors to ensure that delivery dates are understood and liaised back to the production team.

Assist in the production of the weekly, monthly and forecast production plan and brief weekly to all staff.

Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and suppliers.

To have a good knowledge of structural steel, from materials to fabrication processes, ideally from the rail sector.

Assist / Support Project Managers engaging with clients representatives to ensure all information requirements have been issued.

You will liaise with the Head of Production, other project engineers, workshop managers and the QA team to ensure the final product is correct to both drawings and standards.

Ensure work instructions & routings including all relevant documentation is issued to the works to all completion of the project.

Including (but not limited to) drawings, cutting lists, nesting sketches.

To maintain up to date information on project trackers, create and issue delivery notes and organise transport as required.

Make the project manager aware if any TQ s / RFI s are required and at time draft copies for review before submission.

Attend technical review meetings internally to ensure compliance with latest specifications are being met.

In conjunction with Procurement Team to co-ordinate and ensure all material is procured on time and within budget and is co-ordinated with the works manager.

Prepare detailed technical specification for sub-contracted works.

Attend technical discussions with potential suppliers to obtain the best possible solution.

On occasion you maybe required at times to travel to the clients offices to attend design, progress and site meetings and also carry out quality inspections of sub-contracted work at their premises.

A small amount of travel is required for this position both in the Northwest and UK.
