What you'll be doing
As the Facilities Manager, you will oversee the management of our facilities contracts & services to assure performance, business continuity, engagement, and health & safety is maintained. Supporting the Estates and Facilities Manager, you will ensure our corporate offices receive safe, secure, and sustainable support to provide a great place to work. You will also ensure the workplace environment is efficient, effective and meets the needs of the business. Your core duties as the Facilities Manager will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operational delivery of corporate facility services, estates maintenance, compliance, and other property change projects
  • Being part of a team delivering a step-change in the perception of facility services and will have the drive to deliver customer satisfaction
  • Being directly responsible and accountable for managing stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring that there is continuous improvement in standards of safety, quality, time and cost
  • Championing change and new ways of working across our sites and being a trusted advisor for all matters relating to our estates & facilities at each property
  • Liaising between our customers (building occupants) and the suppliers
  • Ensuring that the suppliers deliver to their highest standards in safety and services, fulfilling all contractual obligations and are perceived by the stakeholders as always acting in our best interest
  • £45,000 to £47,000 depending on skills and experience
  • The base for this position is Clearwater Court, Reading however you will be working across all of the Thames Water corporate offices with occasional working from home
  • 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Full-Time, Permanent position
What you should bring to the role
  • Hold a full UK valid driving licence and have your own transport
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Have or working towards IWFM (Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management) Level 4 qualification or can demonstrate capability from previous experience
  • Demonstrable experience managing facilities in a corporate environment
  • Experience of managing and reporting of operational P&L
  • Thorough understanding of Statutory Compliance and H&S in the built environment
  • Experience of minor project works
  • With an emphasis on customer service, you will have great communications, negotiation & influencing skills and experience of managing stakeholders to develop a collaborative relationship with suppliers
