We're looking for a Field Application Scientist - EMEA whose mission is to be a liaison between the customer, sales, and product teams providing solutions for customers and bringing science to our internal engineering team.


Why is this role important at Automata?

In order to empower scientists by making automation a reality for every laboratory we require a FAS to help scope, plan, and solution those client requests

You will be responsible for:

  • Embed within the sales team to assist in the technical win working as a liason between internal teams and the customer to assure the correct interpretation of scientific protocols and workflows to create solutions for our customers

  • Participate in team selling/solutions by working with engineering, product, and sales to create the best solution for the customer.

  • Attend and participate in sales meetings in order to qualify, scope, and solution system designs for innovative lab automation solutions.

  • Compose, compile, and present product and software demonstrations for prospective customers.

  • Responsible for going to trade shows, on-site customer visits and international travel 40-60% of the time (with notice)

  • Continually evaluate processes, policies, and procedures to optimise internal workflows.

  • Build and develop content to train and conduct exercises with the team to promote the best practices amongst peers.

What it takes:

  • Practical experience and subject matter expertise in one of the following Areas: Genomics, NGS, Cell Culture, ELISA, Cell based Assays, Biobanking, Protein Sciences

  • B.S, M.S or PhD alongside relevant experience

  • Experience with lab automation/liquid handling/ robotics preferred

  • Previous FAS experience a must

  • Ability to complete tasks both solo and with diverse groups inside/outside the organisation

  • Ability to work effectively with customers & Sales reps

  • Ability to manage time effectively

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must

  • Experience translating scientific protocols from the bench to automated systems
