SPX Cooling Technologies, a global leader in sustainable evaporative cooling systems, is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. With nearly a century of experience servicing commercial HVAC and industrial markets worldwide, we offer innovative solutions to iconic buildings and essential infrastructure across more than 80 countries.
As a Field Service Technician, you'll play a crucial role as the face of SPX, assisting our customers on-site throughout the UK. This includes new installations, warranty work, planned maintenance, and inspections. Flexibility is key, as you'll be home-based and expected to travel to sites across the UK and Northern Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service and installation of factory-assembled cooling equipment
- Survey customers' installations, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with current legislation
- Assist UK factory sales with installation and assembly
- Provide sales personnel with information for quotes, including competitor and SPX product insights
- Ensure all on-site work adheres to the latest Health & Safety guidelines
- Participate in inter-departmental training programs
- Carry out warranty repairs on cooling equipment and assist with commissioning
Requirements:
- Self-motivated with a "Can Do" attitude, no experience required full training will be provided.
- Full driving license and excellent time management skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in supervising and effectively communicating with subcontractors and internal staff
- Experience in confined space work, working at heights, and site-specific manual handling
- Willingness to work overtime, adapt to flexible schedules, and handle short-notice changes
- Prepared for potential travel within or outside the UK
