Overall Purpose of the Role

  • Assist in the smooth running of FP&A processes across the Toys and Food+ Finance team (approx. 80/20 division of responsibilities between Toys vs Food+) and collaborate with local markets.
  • Provide day to day commercial support, reporting and analytics to the business.

Areas of Responsibility

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Support the Finance Manager in the smooth running of key FP&A cycles and ad hoc requests (Forecast, Accrual, AOP, 5YP) for Global/ Regional & Local Toys/Food+ partners.
  • Assist in the preparation of Forecast/AOP and Accrual presentations to support Senior Management and Commercial leads.
  • Ensure licensee forecasts are received, checked for accuracy and reviewed with the relevant Category teams. Drive forecast loads and system validations.
  • Partner with the Finance Manager and the rest of the team to improve efficiency in processes and share best practice.

Commercial Support

  • Support Toys/Food+ regional teams on overarching and category specific strategies to grow key accounts and streamline tail.
  • Provide support to the wider commercial teams with business plan finalisation, contract renewals, other revenue opportunities (e.g shortfall situations and audit issues).
  • Assist the regional teams with timely and relevant reporting on the performance of the business / franchise and licensees.
  • Share insights on Toys market & competitor performance to identify scalable opportunities and influence strategic decisions.
  • Support on project work and lead on ad hoc requests where required.

Team Management

  • Champion one team mentality and provide support to the rest of the Toys/Food+ Regional Finance team on ad hoc basis to effectively manage workload demands.
  • Ensure collaborative approach with other teams including FP&A, FMCG/Softlines, RA and CMC.

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

  • Degree level essential and a desire to undertake accounting qualifications, if not already started
  • Experience of working within the retail / licensing sector beneficial (experience of an equivalent commercial and FP&A role).

Skills Required

  • Demonstrable track record of providing commercial support and analysis to business partners that’s insightful, timely and responsive and delivers key messaging at the appropriate level of detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Numerate and analytical with a desire to think through and resolve problems.
  • Results focussed and outcome driven
