Job Description

Following an internal promotion we are looking for an additional Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department.

You will be one of four Assistants processing a range of finance tasks on behalf of our legal and business support teams.

The role involves a significant amount of data entry and checking. You will be posting credit card items, invoices and other payments into our practice management system (Aderant) and other systems, ensuring they are accurately coded and cross charged where necessary.

In addition, you’ll deal with a range of other tasks including daily and month end bank reconciliations, posting bank receipts, authorising payments and dealing with queries from suppliers and colleagues within the business.

Ideally you will already have experience working in a junior finance role, with an understanding of common accounting processes and UK VAT rules, but candidates who can demonstrate a high level of numeracy and who have at least 1 year’s experience in an office role involving a high level of accurate data entry and administration duties may also be considered.

It is essential that you can work with an exceptionally high level of accuracy and are able to maintain focus and concentration during long periods of routine work. You’ll also be able to deal helpfully and professionally with enquiries from a range of different people within and outside the business.

Wiggin is a multi-award winning law firm specialising in media, telecoms and intellectual property work. We have an exceptional reputation for our work and are known for our inclusive, supportive and dynamic culture.

Our bright modern office in central Cheltenham is fitted to a high standard with sit/stand desks for everyone, inside and outside dining/rest areas, and a subsidised cafe within the building. We have a hybrid working policy (2 days per week working from home), casual dress code, and an excellent range of benefits (contractual and non-contractual) including 25 days’ holiday plus birthdays off and a volunteer day, medical cover, phi and free parking.
