Job Title: Finance Assistant (Part-time, 2-3 days p/w)

Location: London, Piccadilly

Salary: £30,000 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)

Hours: Mon, Tue, and Thu (opportunity to work some days from home, 1 day in office mandatory for part-timers)

Availability: as soon as possible

Job Overview:


We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented part-time Finance Assistant to join our team. This person will support and report directly to our Financial Accounts Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. This is a great opportunity where you will have the chance to get involved in other areas of finance and work closely with our Financial Accounts Manager. You will be a pivotal part of this small team and will have the chance to take ownership of the role from day one. To be considered, you must have considerable recent experience providing bookkeeping support to a small team, ideally within Financial or the Professional Services sector.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, staff expenses, bank reconciliations and supporting month-end journals and weekly payment runs.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising confidential financial information.
  • Maintain the integrity of accounting information by ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.
  • Comply with UK legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, assisting with filing reports, and advising the Financial Accounts Manager on needed actions.
  • Enhance department and organisation's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Accounts Manager to improve financial procedures.


Qualifications/ Experience / Skills / Attributes


  • Minimum 2-3 years proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • Meticulous approach to work with a high degree of accuracy and has a high attention to detail in dealing with financial accounts.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software (preferably Xero).
  • Experience handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
  • A can-do attitude with a strong proactive approach to work.
  • Able to work well within a team, but also independently without too much supervision.
  • Embodies company core values including honesty, integrity, and trust.
  • Educated to A-Level or Diploma Certification.
