Job Title: Finance Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Hybrid (Coventry/Burton/Home)

Working Hours: This is a part-time position with flexible working hours, approximately 25 hours per week.


We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for finance, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role offers the opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of finance. The candidate should ideally have an interest in Engineering.

What You'll Do:

Accounts Payable:

  • Enter invoices into the system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage expenses, ensuring proper categorisation and adherence to company policies.
  • Send statements and remittances to suppliers.
  • Address and resolve supplier queries efficiently.


Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and issue invoices to customers.
  • Coordinate approval processes for invoices.
  • Upload invoices to Xero accounting software.
  • Conduct basic credit control activities.
  • Handle customer queries in a professional and timely manner.


Reconciliations:

  • Perform reconciliations of financial data as required.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of accruals, prepayments, and journals.


Administrative Tasks:

  • Maintain organised and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks as needed.


Who We Are Looking For:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Experience with Xero accounting software is advantageous.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organisation.
  • Proactive approach to work, with the ability to anticipate needs and solve problems before they arise.
  • Enrolled in professional qualifications such as AAT, CIMA or ACCA.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
