Job Description

Commercial lines now have an opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join us in our Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) Finance team, reporting into our SME Head of Finance. This team and area of Aviva have been going through growth recently, with strong ambition to continue to grow in the future.

The focus of the team is to provide financial support and robust challenge in equal measures to our Commercial Lines business. The successful candidate will support Commercial Lines business deliver its plans through strong performance management, decision-making support, and proactive insight.

A bit about the role

You will act as a Finance point of contract for SME Digital and Schemes business, supporting all financial matters, decisions, and plans, and support of the shaping of business strategy.

  • Support the construction and achievement of the annual Plan, identifying and tracking initiatives and working with senior stakeholders to help the business deliver the result.
  • Financial shaping and sign off financial deals/decision support and Change initiatives.
  • Helping embed economic performance metrics into deals/performance management.
  • Attendance at various meetings to represent Finance.
  • Support production of commercial lines papers into ExCo and SLTs

Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office, with this role based in Norwich or London

Skills & experiences required:

  • Have financial understanding of general insurance P&L accounts and reporting measures with a background in commercially focussed roles.
  • Background of commercially focused finance roles, with business partnering experience preferred.
  • Track record of delivering insight via modelling and using analytical tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and provide proactive stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of modelling and analytical tools with expense management.

  • Salary Circa £45,000 National / Circa £65,000 London (location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
