Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to be recruiting a Finance Business Partner for a charity based in Edinburgh City Centre. The charity is a well-known Scottish brand that has recently embarked on a new 5-year strategy and is seeking a talent finance professional to support it to meet key objectives. The role is offering up to £45,000 per annum + additional benefits.


The Opportunity


The role of Finance Business Partner is a newly created role reporting directly to the Head of Finance and will work closely with the wider organisation. As Finance Business Partner, you will be charged with driving both income and cost efficiencies; presenting key financial findings to senior management to aid decision making and drive performance. Moreover, you will manage an Assistant Finance Business Partner and play a key role across finance - supporting the wider finance team around month and year end.


Your role will include:


  • Line management of 1 direct report
  • Management accounts and reporting
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Business partnering with finance and non-finance colleagues alike
  • Systems and process development
  • Regulation, compliance and governance controls
  • Supporting financial accounting deadlines
  • Deputising to the Head of Finance


Background and Experience


Our client is keen to speak to individuals with the following profile:


  • Experience of working in a similar role within a charity or not-for-profit organisation
  • Hold or working towards an accountancy qualification (desirable NOT essential)
  • Experience of managing or supervising staff
  • Experience of business partnering with and influencing senior management
  • Strong data skills (MS Excel) with an eye for process improvement
  • Strong presentation skills (PowerPoint)

  • Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE)
  • 32.5 hour working week
