Role: Finance Manager - Third Party Brands
Location: Head Office Leicestershire
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 plus bonus & benefits (including car/car allowance)
The Third Party Brands Finance Manager is a highly commercial and exciting role. You will be immersed in the profitability of all our branded sales (Circa £1bn). The role will be a good mix of Business Partnering, Financial Analysis & Management Accounts. You will collaborate closely with Next’s ‘product teams’ and be responsible for reporting & improving the profitability of the business stream.
Responsibilities
The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at reporting & improving the profitability of the branded sales business stream. Key duties include:
- Reporting, Explaining & Managing Performance: Report, explain, and manage the performance of the branded stream to finance and product team stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of financial outcomes.
- Profitability Analysis: Manage brand-level profitability analysis with regular updates throughout the year, identifying areas needing improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Cost Allocation: Collaborate with finance business teams to ensure costs are correctly allocated to the division, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Appraisal of New Brands: Appraise the profitability of potential new brands, ensuring that new launches meet financial expectations and contribute positively to the business.
- Annual Reporting: Prepare detailed analysis of sales and profit for annual reporting to external audiences, providing a clear picture of the business's financial health.
- Licensed Product Profitability: Assess the profitability of licensed products, managing stock levels, margins, and costs to achieve appropriate profitability.
- Team Development: Develop and manage two direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and the success of the team.
Key Requirements
- At least 3 years experience in a Finance or Analytical role
- CIMA/ACCA qualified or Part qualified
- Experience in Financial modelling preferential
- Strong Excel Skills (PowerPivot, Power Query Preferential)
- Good Data handling Skills - comfortable with large Data sets (SQL/Power BI Preferential)
- Able to prepare schedules for review with senior leadership team both within Finance and the wider business
- Self starter and able to manage own workload
- Work accurately with high attention to detail
- To have a flexible approach to the role and be willing to carry out a wide variety of tasks
