Job Description

* Opportunity for Finance Manager to be part of a rapidly growing company with ambitious growth plans * Key role in driving business performance through financial analysis * Chance to influence, challenge and support Operations and Commercial colleagues * Based in Witham (Essex) and 1 day in London * Hybrid working - max 2 days in the office * Salary is £60,000 - £65,000 pus 10% bonus

What you'll do:

As a Finance Manager, you will be at the heart of our client's finance team. Your primary responsibility will be to drive business performance through insightful financial analysis. You will have a hands-on role in preparing and reviewing management accounts and cash flow forecasts. Additionally, you will partner with Operations to review project costs, projected out-turns and cashflows. Your keen eye for detail will ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately. You will also play a key role in supporting the Head of Finance in developing the finance team and in divisional forecasting.

  • Updating and maintaining WIP files on a monthly basis
  • Overseeing the management accounts production with an initial review, including variance analysis
  • Preparing short-term daily and 13-week cash flow forecasts
  • Business partnering with Operations, regularly reviewing the CTCs, projected outturns and projected cashflow on all major projects
  • Ensuring Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed
  • Supporting the Head of Finance to develop the finance team
  • Supporting with divisional forecasting and the development of annual budgets
  • Reviewing and submitting any HMRC submission such as PAYE, VAT, CIS, P11D on time
  • Supporting internal and external audit process
What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager position is a qualified accountant or QBE with experience in Management Accounting or Finance Business Partnering. You should possess strong Excel skills along with some exposure to BI reporting/SQL/Marcos. Experience in Project Accounting would be advantageous. Your high attention to detail and ability to challenge non-finance people will be key in this role. As a clear communicator, you should have an awareness of the details surrounding individual project working capital.

This person will be taking responsibility for maintaining a large spreadsheet and linking/analysing data and forward looking modelling.

Construction industry experience is ideal.
