What you’ll do

As Finance Manager it is your responsibility to oversee end-to-end finance operations, whilst managing financial planning and analysis and working close with the Finance assistant.


The Finance Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts, variance analysis and commentary
  • Board reporting, KPIs and commentary
  • Balance sheet management
  • VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax compliance
  • Preparation and submission of annual R&D claim
  • Planning and delivery of Annual Audit process for UK and Overseas entities
  • Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting – annual and monthly
  • Operational board attendance, contribution, and presentation
  • Sales forecasting and liaison with sales management
  • Cashflow management (Forecasting, payments and banking relationship)
  • Financial management of overseas entities (APAC and USA)
  • Managing escalated Customer queries
  • Development and maximising Microsoft Business Central functionality
  • Streamlining of financial business and systems processes
  • Managing data, driving Business Insights through Business Central and Power BI
  • Enhancing and maintaining a strong system of control and process efficiency.
  • Ad hoc projects for CEO / CFO
  • Management of a direct report


Essential:

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience producing budgets (multi-millions)
  • Annual audit management
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Team player with excellent communications skills and able to work at pace
  • Customer facing mentality and engagement
  • Microsoft 365 suite experience and excellent data/modelling skills


Desirable:

  • Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
  • Power BI
  • Experience of working within a B2B SaaS business

Location

At Mercury, we believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration. That’s why we encourage our team members to join us at our Coleshill office 2 days per week. However, we’re all about flexibility, so we support remote work the remaining days if that’s your preference.
