The Role:

As our Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring robust financial management and reporting. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll lead a team of three talented individuals – two Finance Assistants (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable) and a Management Accountant.

What You’ll Do:

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Finance Assistants and Management Accountant, ensuring their professional growth.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee all day-to-day financial operations, including month-end procedures for all of our 8 events.
  • Support forecasting, variance review, and financial planning and analysis processes.
  • Liaise with event directors to ensure accurate and timely review of financial forecasts and reports.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, including monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Implement effective credit control measures and manage debtor relationships.

What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance function, with 2-3 years in a finance manager role, preferably within the events or luxury travel industry.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) - fully qualified.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a finance team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial software and systems (QuickBooks, AIQ, Pleo).
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible business hours as required.

Position Type: Permanent, with a 4-day working week. Our hybrid model includes 3 days in the office (located in Shepherd's Bush), 1 day working from home, and every Friday as a non-working day as standard.
