The Opportunity

The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.

Nurole is looking for a Finance & Operations Assistant to support many of the key functions of the organisation. This is a terrific opportunity for someone with 1-3 years’ experience working in a corporate setting to join a dynamic and fast-growing company in a role that can make a real contribution to its success. The Finance & Operations Assistant owns day-to-day financial administration and reporting, and offers a great pathway for someone who is interested in developing their skills and knowledge in a finance function and growing towards a position of responsibility. But this is also a role with a lot of variety - owning processes across contracts, sales and the Nurole platform itself - that offers exposure to different areas of the business and other routes for progression.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance & Operations Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Managing our payables, employee expenses and bank reconciliation
  • Sending contracts and invoices to our clients and tracking late payment
  • Updating and analysing expenditure reports so we have a detailed understanding of the business’s costs
  • Producing monthly metrics on the performance of our finance function
  • Administering our charitable donation incentive programme
  • Helping to maintain the business development pipeline within Nurole’s CRM system
  • Evaluating and responding to membership requests and referrals
  • Creating pitch presentations and other materials to support sales and account development
  • Representing our clients positively by helping to proof-read new role postings

Person Specification

The Finance & Operations Assistant will have:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience of working in a corporate environment, ideally in a similar financial or administrative role

Also sought:

  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Efficient and reliable delivery
  • Strong tech skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Accountability and confidence to own processes and drive their continuous improvement
  • A proactive nature and approach to work, with the willingness and ability to suggest improvements or take on additional responsibilities in order to better support the team

Benefits

  • 25 days holiday, office closed over Christmas, and bank holidays
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working
  • Private health insurance with mental health coverage, and 24/7 access to a private GP
  • Regular learning and development opportunities

About Nurole\t

Nurole is the leading non-executive search firm in the UK, helping place nearly 1,000 people each year in board roles.

Nurole is leveraging technology to make the search process fairer and more efficient. We use a combination of industry experience, smart technology and crowd-sourced recommendations to find

more diverse and better-quality candidates. Our network of 60,000 board leaders includes 70% of FTSE 350 board directors.

From global brands to local charities, almost every organisation has a board. They play a vital role in overseeing, encouraging and holding these organisations to account. But while the world is changing quicker than ever, board-level hiring is stuck in the past. That’s where Nurole comes in.

By hiring the right people, good boards become great. Great boards change their organisations, and great organisations change the world. So the work we do matters. We’d love you to join us.

Our Values

Nurole’s culture is built on three core values:

  • Be Bold – moon shoot, own it, be brilliant
  • Build Trust – always be kind, nothing beneath us, givers not takers
  • Be Better – growth mindset, black box thinking, autonomy mastery purpose

The Nurole team believes in equality of opportunity and that diversity matters, but not diversity for diversity’s sake: different perspectives around the table lead to better outcomes for organisations and society at large.

We also believe in technology for good: we allow not-for-profits to use the Nurole platform at a reduced rate and we make a donation to a charity of choice on behalf of each member who successfully recommends someone for a commercial role. We have already raised tens of thousands of pounds for important causes this way.
