You'll be joining the the Financial Reporting Team, who are responsible for managing the core financial accounting for the Covéa Insurance companies in the UK delivering financial control, reporting and support to the business on time, every time.

This role is fully remote, so can be performed from home. But if you're keen to get into the office, you can too!

What will I be doing?

  • Taking proactive ownership of all the various accounting and reporting processes for our services company.
  • Leading on tax processes within the Group, compiling the quarterly VAT submissions and completing annual corporation tax returns.
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts ensuring that any outstanding items are investigated and cleared as appropriate efficiently.
  • Leading and assisting on various projects (across various areas of the management accounts) to improve controls and challenge existing processes to ensure the accuracy of stated results and speed in which they can be delivered.
  • Providing professional and analytical support to the Finance Reporting and the wider Finance team.
  • Leading the preparation of the year-end financial accounts and related schedules for assigned companies additionally providing support to ensure a clean year-end audit.
  • Supporting with various elements of reporting within the general insurance company, such as quarterly quota share accounts.
  • Preparing and maintaining accounting and financial reporting process documentation.
You should apply if you...
  • Are educated to degree standard or equivalent (preferably with a Maths or Finance related lead discipline).
  • Are a part qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA), ideally a finalist.
  • Have got strong Excel skills (e.g. v-lookups, pivot tables, reports etc.).
  • Have experience of working in a Finance environment in a highly regulated industry, preferably Financial Services/Insurance, would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Are self-driven, can work autonomously with integrity and a proven work ethic.
  • Have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Have the desire to challenge and improve processes and not follow the status quo.
  • Are a team player who enjoys working inclusively with people from different backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Have the ability to proactively plan to achieve targets and objectives.
  • Are hard working and flexible, able to work under pressure and sometimes with challenging timescales.
