Job Description

Siemens are recruiting a Financial Accounting Advisor to join our corporate finance team, based in Farnborough, to support the Mobility businesses in the UK and other countries in the region. Corporate Finance and Reporting Western Europe and Africa are responsible for the books and records of 95 entities across 18 countries. This role involves providing technical accounting guidance to ensure adherence to IFRS and the Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines. This role requires fostering relationships with key business contacts to effectively communicate and apply the guidelines.

This is a hybrid role with a combination of home working and office working in our Farnborough office, with an element of travel within the UK and the region (approx 10-20%).

What are my responsibilities?
Manage the accurate application of IFRS within the existing Siemens policies / guidelines by providing accounting advice to the Siemens Mobility businesses, especially in accounting for complex and non-routine transactions.
Coordinate the timely and practice-oriented implementation of centrally rolled out IFRS regulations. Provide local training if needed.
Perform regular balance sheet reviews of the Mobility businesses in the region.
Build good working relationships with the Mobility businesses and Heads of Accounting across the region, and act as a trusted service provider by understanding the business needs and complexities.
Local UK statutory accounting advice and support/preparation if needed.
From time to time, it may be a requirement to provide ad-hoc support to other Siemens entities in the region to support the Head of Accounting.
Drive the implementation of new digital tools for more efficient interpretation and communication of financial data.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
Excellent knowledge of IFRS, in particular revenue recognition, and foreign currency accounting, and the ability to apply these to complex accounting transactions.
Good knowledge of SAP, data analytics tools and other digital technologies.
Highly motivated, dynamic, self-driven personality enjoying working with a multitude of stakeholders throughout the business.
Used to working in a continuous changing environment, intercultural sensitivity, strong ownership approach, excellent communication skills.
