Teneo is looking for a talented and driven Associate Consultant with a passion for business and financial communications to join our team.

Some previous experience of the TMT sector is preferable although not essential. Applicants should be intellectually curious, financially literate, creative, collaborative, and eager to learn. We’re interested in meeting candidates with wide-ranging backgrounds, and we’re open to hearing from you whether you currently work agency side, or in-house, or in the broader financial sector.

Teneo is an integrated communications consultancy, providing all aspects of strategic counsel to business leaders and CEOs. This role is primarily to support Teneo’s financial communications TMT clients, helping to shape company narratives and influence how major corporate news flow lands with key capital markets audiences to achieve strategic objectives. Our work is wide-ranging and includes equity story development, financial calendar communications, executive profiling, IPOs, restructurings and M&A transactions, crisis management, media relations, ESG, stewardship and governance issues.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Consultant at Teneo, you will:

  • Be reliable and responsive with a positive attitude and willingness to get involved without waiting to be asked
  • Understand the importance of managing deadlines and proactively communicating progress against them
  • Have strong organisational skills to work across different client teams and projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
  • Provide media monitoring on clients and their competitors, using a variety of inputs and tools – resulting in useful insights and advice on implications for clients
  • Build a strong network of effective relationships internally and externally
  • Seek opportunities for growth on client accounts and support on writing new business proposals
  • Provide constructive day to day feedback and coaching to more junior members of the team whilst being able to implement personal feedback received
  • Be a positive, flexible and ambitious team player

Skills and Experience

  • Around 1 - 3 years’ experience in a communications role, either within an agency or in-house, or a related role within the financial services industry
  • Experience generating good quality research and presenting insights in a useable and engaging way
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (including strong PowerPoint skills)
  • Strong media relations skills and contacts
  • Ability to build solid client relationships and make valuable contributions in internal and external meetings
  • Strong ability to grasp clients’ business objectives and relevant wider industry dynamics
