Job Description

We are partnering with an innovative and growing start-up located in London. The company is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Controller to join the team in London.

Role Overview:

In this role you will play a key role in managing and optimizing our financial processes and strategies. You will work closely with the executive team to provide insightful financial analysis, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the overall financial health and growth of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Taxation: Ensure VAT and annual tax filings are complete and work closely with external tax advisors to manage tax planning and reporting for the company in all applicable jurisdictions, optimizing tax efficiency while ensuring compliance.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the internal team to optimize financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a start-up or high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools (Xero)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proven leadership abilities and a track record of driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
