Job Description

On an exclusive basis, greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a Financial Controller - Finance Director Designate (within 12 months) position based in Stoke on Trent.

Working as part of a privately owned, growing SME Business, duties of the role will include:

  1. Oversee the preparation of the company's financial accounts: Ensure that financial accounts are prepared accurately and presented to the board monthly, providing valuable insights into the company's financial performance.
  2. Collaborate with the management team: Work closely with the management team to establish more effective processes and controls.
  3. Provide meaningful and accurate data reporting: Deliver weekly reports to management, offering valuable insights and analysis to support decision-making and drive business performance.
  4. Oversee all tax, regulatory, and compliance issues: Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, mitigating risks and maintaining the company's financial integrity.
  5. Provide support to external accountants: Collaborate with external accountants, providing them with necessary documentation and support to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with auditing standards.
  6. Prepare and submit Quarterly VAT Returns: Manage VAT processes, including preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns, handling foreign VAT, and managing import documentation.
  7. Prepare Cash Forecast and Present Weekly: Develop and present a 12-week cash forecast, providing visibility into cash flow projections and facilitating effective financial planning.
  8. Update Daily Reports of Cash Collection and Supplier Payments: Monitor and update daily reports of cash collection and supplier payments, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.
  9. Update Board monthly of Forecast against budget: Provide monthly updates to the board on forecasted financial performance compared to budget, highlighting variances and addressing any discrepancies.
