We are proud of our vast, diverse and highly skilled team, who help to make our industry Better Connected and Better Informed.  Our investment research website, Trustnet, is looking for a Financial Journalist, who will be instrumental in helping readers understand how issues such as the emergence of artificial intelligence, politics and climate change move the market and affect their portfolios.  This role is ideal for recent journalism graduates or reporters at the start of their career and looking to specialise in financial journalism. Your day will involve writing long-form articles about funds, markets and investments from sources such as industry contacts, FE fundinfo’s investment data, news releases and third-party research. The editorial team you will join prioritises training, development and a supportive culture  In this role, you will eventually become equally comfortable interrogating a fund manager running billions of pounds as you will analysing a spreadsheet looking for market trends. Investment might sound like a complicated subject matter, but the most important thing is that you have boundless curiosity, an interest in finance and a passion for quality journalism.  Requirements Your key responsibilities as a Financial Journalist will be:  Write news and features on investment funds, global financial markets, economic indicators and relevant events.  Develop the ability to convey complex financial information in an understandable and engaging manner for readers.  Develop a deep understanding of FE fundinfo's fund data analysis tools and use them to create original data-driven journalism pieces.  Foster relationships with press officers, fund managers, financial analysts and other investment professionals to build a comprehensive contact book.  Attend industry events, conferences and seminars to network with potential sources and gather exclusive insights.  Supporting the continued growth of Trustnet through new content ideas, promotion on social media and helping to build the audience.  To join us as a Financial Journalist you will need the following experience and skills:  You will have a qualification in journalism or previous experience in the field. But you don’t have to know everything about investments on day one or be a seasoned news hound - just eager to learn.  You will have strong writing skills, confidence with numbers and ability to work to deadlines. We want someone who loves writing and is passionate about crafting interesting, engaging articles for their readers.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills. You will be dealing with people at all levels within the asset management industry, including some of the best fund managers in the country and CEOs of the industry’s biggest firms.  You will possess strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and market trends. This capability is crucial for producing insightful and predictive content that anticipates market movements and investor interests.  You will need the ability to quickly adapt to the fast-paced nature of financial news.
