Role Overview


We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Financial Analysis & Planning Manager (FP&A Manager) to work in a truly global environment. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a number two for the Head of FP&A, ensuring smooth functioning of the department to free up time to focus on broader strategic projects and initiatives. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the FP&A team, working with the ESG and Sustainability teams to develop the reporting framework, providing guidance, and ensuring accurate financial analysis and reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of FP&A and Group Finance Director to develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function, including the development of necessary new reporting structures.
  • Collaborate with the ESG team to ensure accurate and transparent ESG data reporting, contributing to building trust with stakeholders and promoting ethical and sustainable business practices.
  • Integrate ESG metrics into the financial planning and analysis process to provide a comprehensive view of the company's performance, ensuring that sustainability considerations are embedded in strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and integrate robust ESG reporting processes into the overall financial reporting framework to ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency in sustainability disclosures.
  • Keep up to date with evolving ESG disclosure trends and regulatory requirements, ensuring proactive compliance and alignment with new expectations and standards.
  • Assist in the development of long-term financial plans, budgets, and forecasts in alignment with corporate objectives and market trends.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the central finance team, ensuring the production of high-quality management information and analysis in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain highly effective key relationships with the business unit support teams and CFOs.
  • Transaction and M&A support, including ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required
  • Help shift the focus of FP&A from Data and Analysis to Insight and Action.

Process development, including:

  • Incremental improvements and process re-design of the annual group budgeting process.
  • Developing and enhancing the internal reporting processes.

Planning and analysis, including:

  • Accurate and high-quality reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Detailed P&L, balance sheet and cash flow analysis.
  • Project management - support the senior team with project work by producing and updating financial models and forecasts, challenging assumptions, managing internal stakeholders, presenting data-driven recommendations, and assisting with execution.


Skills and Experience

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with post qualification experience in FP&A, Risk or product control function of large global organization (preferably commodity trading).
  • Experience building and maintaining financial models and driving business decision support of complex business situations.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and other analytical tools; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics) preferred. Experience with Hyperion (HFM) preferred.
  • Good level of business and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal) and relationship builder; hands-on and self-driven, not in need of high oversight and supervision with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proactive and goal orientated.
  • Experience in preparing professional reports and presentations.
  • Project management skills
