Job Description
We are currently recruiting for full time experienced transport and logistics specialist for the NI Ambulance Service. This post is Band 7 and based at Knockbracken Healthcare Park in Belfast. Salary set £22.37ph. Mileage 0.56p per mile. Hours Mon – Fri 0900 -1700. Initial 6 month contract. Parking and facilities on site. Closing date 30 June 2024.
KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Fleet Manager will be in the in-house expert for the vehicle fleet, vehicle based equipment and uniforms
The post-holder will be required to collaborate widely with stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and guidance. You will be responsible for:
- Delivery of a quality service in transport, uniforms and patient lifting and handling equipment
- Planning, deployment and allocation of high value fleet resources regionally in such a way as to secure optimal performance and the achievements of section’s financial and operational targets
- Regional deployment of patent lifting and handling equipment
- Management and allocation and availability of uniforms on 24-7 basis.
CRITERIA:
Have a recognised qualification or equivalent in related discipline such as Fleet/ Transport Management
AND
Minimum of 5 years management experience in a transport or fleet environment for specialist large fleet (over 350 vehicles)
AND
Full membership of an engineering based institute at member level or higher – Institute of Motor Industry or Society of Operational Engineers
AND
Hold a current Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport Management
