Established in 2007 by CEO Hayley McKenna, Durham Climbing Centre is one of the longest standing, dedicated bouldering centre's in the UK. We offer a welcoming climbing community and facilities for every level of climber. Our purpose-built facilities cater to beginners and advanced climbers of all ages and abilities. We provide high-quality coaching and facilities for adults, children, schools, and groups. In 2020, we underwent a major refurbishment, including decoration, new climbing problems, revamped training areas, beginner climbing areas, and a new café layout.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Front Desk Receptionist at Durham Climbing Centre, located in County Durham. As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will be responsible for handling customer inquiries, managing bookings, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area. You will also assist with administrative tasks and support other departments as needed. Hospitality experience is desirable as the role involves operating a barista coffee machine and serving hot food.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software
- Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role is preferred
- Knowledge of climbing or interest in the sport is a plus
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Legal authorization to work in the UK
- High school diploma or equivalent
As a customer facing business, Durham Climbing Centre is open 7 days a week between the hours of 8am – 10pm. This role requires working weekends and may require working in shifts, so flexibility is required.
