Job Description

The Ministry of Defence has selected Team Resolute, comprising Harland & Wolff, Navantia UK and BMT, to build support ships for the Royal Navy with a £1.6 billion contract. Team Resolute has been appointed to deliver three crucial support ships to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA), where such vessels will provide munitions, stores and provisions to the Royal Navy’s aircraft carriers, destroyers and frigates deployed at sea.

This contract will come with investment in shipyard infrastructure to support the British shipbuilding sector, the investment will create one of the most advanced yards in the UK, significant for future export and domestic shipbuilding and offshore opportunities.

*Job Purpose:* To oversee, manage and contribute to the delivery of production information for the Fleet Solid Support ships through effective management of internal resources and close collaboration with the Prime Contractor (Navantia)
*The Role:*
* Reviewing durations for the ship manufacturing construction activities defined on the Contract Master Schedule (CMS) and establish facility loading, suggesting alternative strategies if necessary.
* Supporting the configuration, function testing and roll-out of the Company’s enhanced ERP/Integrated Business Management System (IBMS), e.g. defining work centres and manufacturing processes.
* Providing production engineering input to the development and creation of project management documents such as PQP etc.
* Reporting to Project Management Organisation (PMO) regarding production engineering progress, issues and concerns.
*About You:*
* A proven related background in ship building with several years professional experience at frontline supervisory or managerial level including management of sub-contract design staff.
* Demonstrable experience in production engineering aspects of a successful ship construction project.
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and familiar with other general drafting software such as AutoCAD.
