FUEL SYSTEMS TEST ENGINEER – CONTRACT 12 MONTHS – FILTON Bristol

3 Days per week on site in Filton required

Role Overview

Airbus' Zero Emissions Development Centre based in Filton is developing Hydrogen propulsion systems. Testing the integration of fuel systems within the aircraft.

Every day presents new challenges in a variety of areas from agreement on Test Requirements and procedures, Definition and validation of test rig configuration and instrumentation. Aligning on planning of Test Activity and co-ordinating activity with Test Engineers, conducting tests and producing Test Reports.

AT THE COAL FACE TASKS / RESPONSIBIITIES
Collaborate with Design Office, Flight Test & Programme to determine and capture Test campaign requirements. This will involve understanding the System elements that respond to the requirements to be tested, helping design test steps to both confirm conformance to requirements and discover misbehaviours.
Collaborate with other areas of the test organisation to prepare Instrumentation, acquire results, and write Test Results Analyses in response to Test Requests. This will involve agreeing measurement chains (Instrument type, installation and acquisition parameters), conducting tests, analysing system performance including interactions with other systems/physical events and presenting findings in a clear, concise manner backed up with demonstrations in plotted data.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / PROVEN ABILITY
Hydraulics Systems Testing and/or Mechanical Systems Testing or knowledge of Hydrogen Operations/fuel systems.
Analysis of System performance, test reporting and investigations.
Definition of Instrumentation systems.
Familiarity with Logical Systems (AND, NAND, OR, NOR etc, SCADE (Safety Critical Application Development Environment)).
System Integrity (Robustness to failure, Reconfiguration, FMEA, Monitors,
Alerts).

DESIRABLES
Systems testing techniques.
Awareness of safe ways of working in a Test Environment.
Hydrogen experience
