The London Library is a registered charity and one of the UK’s greatest literary institutions, providing inspiration and ideas for 180 years. It has had a unique impact on the country’s literary and artistic output and continues to do so today, with a borrowing collection containing over 1 million books and an extensive eLibrary. Well known members have included Charles Dickens, Bram Stoker, Daphne du Maurier and Sarah Waters. The London Library is a home for everyone who loves the written word.


We are now looking for an experienced Fundraising Operations Officer to support our fundraising activities.


As Fundraising Operations Officer, you will develop your skills supporting activity across revenue streams including giving. You will get involved in departmental administration and carry out some diary management. You will also undertake prospect research and pipeline management to assist with major and regular giving and campaign fundraising. You will help manage and assist with venue hire and filming activity as well as help organise and run fundraising events. You will oversee and support the delivery of our annual Library Fund appeal to members, and delivery of our Adopt a Book scheme too.


For this role you must have extensive administrative experience and have worked in a fundraising team for a charity or arts organisation. You will have good GCSE grades in Maths and English (Grade A-C) or equivalent and be familiar with using CRM systems and other databases. You will also possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills as well as an eye for detail. Important too, will be the ability to learn new systems quickly and work well as part of a collaborative team. Experience of using specialist fundraising/membership software and prospect research would be an advantage.
