The Client
Our client is a leading business that operates within the technology space, providing software solutions to businesses within the legal and financial sector.
Our client has experienced year on year growth and due to recent expansion into new territory, now seek to appoint an ambitious General Counsel to complement their aggressive growth plans for 2023 and beyond.
With significant financial backing, notable investors and an established high preforming legal team, the business is on track to be a true disruptor within their market.
The Opportunity
Exciting and rare opportunity to propel your career in a true leadership position. The role will allow the successful appointee to gain exposure to exciting and challenging work within Tech, financial services, and employment.
You will have immediate support from the wider legal team and will report directly into the C - suite.
You will also be key in the hiring and growth plans for legal, shaping the in-house team to meet the demands of high-growth business.
The candidate
- 8-10+ years PQE
- Led or supported the development of an in-house function at a bank, financial services, or technology firm, including managing external legal resource and costs.
- Deep experience in most of the following practice areas;
- UK financial services and regulatory matters
- intellectual property
- corporate governance
- structuring and negotiating commercial contracts
- fundraising and corporate development
- data protection
- employment
- Experience as a member of the executive committee is desirable.
- Leading a team is desirable.
We're hybrid-remote, and most of your colleagues will not share an office with you on a day-to-day basis. This means you should also have a high degree of comfort adopting new software tools for document drafting, collaboration, and communication.
