Fantastic opportunity for an experienced lawyer with leadership qualities looking for an exciting role in a high-growth Fintech environment.
We are searching for an exceptional General Counsel to become an integral part of our client's organisation, which is a leading fintech platform backed by blue chip, household name investors. Your role as General Counsel will be pivotal in supporting the ongoing growth of this business.
As part of the Executive team and reporting to the CEO, you will ensure its operations adhere to the legal frameworks in each relevant jurisdiction and provide valuable legal and regulatory insights. You will manage a small, high performing Legal & Regulatory team and together you will enable this ambitious company to achieve its goals at pace without exposing it to disproportionate risk.

You must be a fully qualified, SRA registered lawyer with good academics and law firm training. You are likely to have a minimum of c. 10 years’ PQE and significant prior experience in Fintech or the financial services industry. You will have both transactional/deal focussed experience plus good regulatory knowledge (eg. AIFMD, FSMA, AML and CCA), as these two elements will complement each other. Understanding the wider lending environment in which the business’ partners operate will be helpful.
The successful candidate will thrive in this agile, high-growth environment and have experience in leading teams and projects across multiple jurisdictions. Pro-activity, sound judgement, excellent communication skills, humility and flexibility will be key to success.
