Responsibilities

The General Manager is responsible for the management of the Wireline Plant, including all of the Repair and Maintenance of Tool Assets as well as the Capital Build Plan and Spares that are shipped to Operation locations as applicable for the plant. This role is responsible for providing overall direction, coordination and evaluation of all Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and support employees at the facility.

The General Manager will also be responsible for achieving the Key Performance Indicators and Objectives defined for the Plant in order to satisfy the Product Lines demand. This will be accomplished through the development and implementation of cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods, delivering, and granting product specifications and quality standards ensuring HSE compliance. A key aspect of the General Manager role is the overall Supply Chain management of all components and required materials for new build and all assemblies.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE

 

  • Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices and complies with the Company's Rules to Live By.

  • Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System.
  • Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement.


OPERATIONS

 

 

  • Effectively manage cross functional relationships with other departments to support effective use of manpower, materials, and equipment, as well as productivity and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for implementing the strategy and long-term planning of the facility's operations to ensure continued success in meeting customer expectation.
  • Interface with Company engineers, strategic sourcing, project management, human resources, logistics, customer service, and accounting personnel regarding facility issues, process optimization, methods development, personnel development, outside supplier development, strategic project implementation, quotes, and order management, and for analyzing and preparing monthly financial reporting presentations.
  • Oversee, review, and authorize procedures, work instructions, forms, and other documents as applicable with the support of concerned personnel and measure and evaluate productivity.
  • Develop and implement improvements to productivity, cost reduction and inventory management, including evaluating and maintaining appropriate levels of inventory while responsible for on-time shipment.
  • Support the implementation and sustaining efforts to promote and execute new techniques and products, purchase and use of new machinery or equipment and optimize staff level.
  • Ensure plant operations are running in accordance with sales priorities and customer requests.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.


COMMUNICATION

 

 

  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.
  • Supervisors and Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities to their reports.


FINANCIAL

 

 

  • All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses.
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure.
  • Effectively manage routine maintenance projects to include establishing operating budgets, cost justification, quoting equipment and contractors, maintaining records, executing deliverables, meeting time and cost restraints.


PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT

 

 

  • Leads, mentors, and provides supervision for Safety, Quality, Production, Planning, Procurement, Inventory, Logistics and Facility itself, as well as other facility personnel responsible for personnel management; plan for personnel changes, forecast changes in personnel levels, source local recruits.
  • Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives, and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential.
  • Supervisors are expected to actively engaging their employees to support talent management through Weatherford's performance management process, including but not limited to talent assessments, succession planning & regular coaching opportunities.
  • Supervisors should collaborate with Human Resources & Training Development to drive strategies for the recruitment and retention of key personal & to foster an environment that supports the attraction and retention of a high performing talented workforce.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

 

 

  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience with multiple direct reports.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with hands-on Lean Manufacturing which has resulted in driving positive plant performance and financial improvements.
  • 5-8 Years minimum experience in a manufacturing setting with hands on involvement in leading productivity improvement via setup reduction, tooling improvements, etc.
  • Full understanding of Capital Equipment processes and procedures.
  • Manufacturing Supply Chain experience directly related to Wireline Product lines.
  • Wireline Services Preferred.
  • Capital Equipment Manufacturing of Complex Assets
  • Repair and Maintenance Capital Asset experience with managing Repair and Maintenance tools and processes in parallel to New Build production.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail and follow through.Excellent leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to delegate work effectively.
  • Understanding of budgetary process and fiscal responsibility requirements.
  • Excellent project management and problem- solving skills.
  • Strong training and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • General knowledge of purchasing, inventory control and oilfield related parts.
  • Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing equipment, preventative/predictive maintenance systems, and equipment cost.


PREFERRED:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent to 10+ years of experience related to manufacturing, particularly in oilfield applications.
  • Fundamental Lean Training and background knowledge of lean principles preferred.
  • Strong understanding and experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Experience working in a multi-product line manufacturing plant serving international customers.
  • Ability to interact in language relevant in local plant.
  • Detailed understanding of MRP, with experience in Microsoft Axapta.
  • Demonstrated experience developing supply chains to improve operational performance - on time delivery, lead time and cost.
