Hays Education are looking for a Secondary School Teacher of Geography to start in September.
We are currently looking for a KS3/KS4 teacher of Geography to work within a secondary school in the BS11 area of Bristol.
Geography Teacher
- To start in the next academic year.
- Day to day/ongoing work
- Teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4
- Bristol-based Secondary School
You must have relevant experience working with 11 – 16-year-olds within the last 2 years, and we must be able to obtain relevant references for this time. You should have a professional manner and a flexible attitude to working and timetable changes. Most importantly, you should be enthusiastic, engaging, and passionate about working with young people. Strong behaviour management and the ability to implement schools’ behaviour polices is also essential.
Job Description:
- Delivering engaging and creative Geography lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Supporting, advising, guiding, and supervising students throughout the school day.
- Supporting these classes in the absence of the timetabled staff/teacher.
- Delivering the cover work established in the absence of the teacher.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography
- Recent experience teaching this subject at secondary school level.
- Hold an enhanced DBS certificate that is registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Strong behaviour/classroom management.
- Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.

You will have your own timetable and deliver improvements and results for your own classes.
You will be paid a competitive daily wage, based on your experience and the responsibilities of this assignment, plus you will accrue holiday pay with the option to take it at any point of the year.
