A secondary school in Cwmbran is seeking a talented and passionate Geography teacher to join their team in September.
This is a maternity cover contract until July 2025, and an exciting opportunity to be part of a strong faculty in a highly ambitious school which is wholly focused on providing every opportunity for students to perform to their very best.
This role is paid in line with MPS/UPS pay scales - £30,742 - £47,304.
This is a full time position - 32.5 hours a week

The successful candidate will:
- Have QTS and experience delivering high-quality lessons.
- Deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons to secondary school students
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop schemes of work and maintain high standards
- Participate in school events and extracurricular activities
At Key Stage 4 the school follows the WJEC specification. Geography is a very popular subject at GCSE with consistently strong results. At Key Stage 3 Geography is taught as a discreet subject alongside religion, Values & Ethics and History.
The school is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated colleague to make a positive contribution to the Humanities Faculty. The right candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the curriculum in line with Curriculum for Wales and have the possibility to teach across both key stages.
All new members of staff receive a very strong programme of induction, which includes an allocated member of staff to support with the operational elements of joining a new school, as well as a tailored support package to meet individual needs. All teaching staff are also issued with a school 2-in-1 laptop device.
